Few Days To Christmas

'Few days to Christmas' is a project that transcends time for the photographer as he delves into the reflections of his childhood. The tender moments shared with his late grandmother are being relived through his nieces, who now experience those precious moments with his mother. This project unravels the thread of familial continuity whenever the children leaves their parents for their Grandma's during the holidays, just before Christmas - which the town sometimes refer to as "Odun Kekere" (meaning 'small festival', with New Year referred to as the Big festival).

Beyond the nostalgia of cherished moments and pampering, this narrative unfolds as a study of sustainability practices during festive times by these two African mothers - the grandmother and the mother. The project sheds light on the simplicity of sustainable living ingrained in their actions — from the joy of buying second-hand toys, to the reduction of food waste and energy use, to a dislike for 'bangers', and then to choices that reduce environmental impact, like planting and keeping of used pet bottles for recycle rather than disposal.

'Few days to Christmas' hope to make viewers visually explore the study of the little things that express love and joy, and also teach us sustainability even as we grow up.
